Your primary duties and responsibilities:
- Leading technical projects
- Design CAD sub-assemblies and interfaces to larger CAD assemblies for optomechanical components and optoelectronic subsystems
- Perform rigorous tolerance analyses to ensure mechanical feasibility of the designs
- Create detailed, tolerance 2D drawings with FAI (First Article Inspection) for optical & mechanical components based on design for manufacturing considering supplier’s fabrication methods and metrology capabilities
- Evaluate and select materials capable of achieving high-quality module performance while suitable for mass production
- Close collaboration with external mechanical workshops and suppliers
- Support high quality standards and practices according to ISO9001
Experience & Education
Your background:
- 3-5 years experience in a similar role
- One of the following degrees: Höhere Fachschule (HF), Fachhochschule (FH), Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Optomechanical Engineering
- Experience with CAD (SolidWorks) and PDM (3DExperience) software
- Knowledge of mechanical and thermal properties of glass, plastic, metal, and electrical component materials commonly used in optical modules
- Experience with bonding technologies, specifically with adhesive processes, epoxies, and UV-curable adhesives
- Knowledge in the field of product development and the development of manufacturing processes is advantageous
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and mechanical metrology
- Understanding the basic principles of optics, opto-mechanics and opto-electronics assembly in cleanroom conditions
- Fluent English and German are required
Conditions
- The position is 80% to 100% (34-42 hours/week)
- One day of home office per week is possible
- The workplace is located at our headquarters near Zurich, Switzerland in Dübendorf
- The preferred starting date is as soon as possible
